Yellow-legged Gull ~ 3rd. W ~ Majorca, Spain - Oct '13

Friday, 1 November 2013

I tried many locations, and all coastal one of them being Formentor Beach, I worked out that first thing in the morning it maybe ok with the rising sun, ehh yeah for about five minutes and then it was straight to harshville !!

Some days were over-cast ...

Yellow-legged Gull ~ 3rd. W

Long Call whilst on the water

Long Calling again ...

A few from Port de Soller

Still traces of black in the coverts & tail ..

And in the underwing coverts ...

And by far the best location Port de Pollenca beach

Just about got away with the poor light on this one as it left the main subject in shadow ...

Didn't really get away with this one ...

Generally birds flying away from you are dumped straight in the bin but what if you still have eye contact, works for me !!

Now this next image is by far my favorite from this set, good pose, well lite and clean background ...

1/1000 ~ F 5.6 ~ iso 640
